Book Clubs at the JBPL
Knitters' Book Club will meet Tuesday, May 27th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This month's selection is The River of Doubt by Candace Millard. Non-knitters welcome, too!
Mystery Book Club usually meets the 4th Thursday of the month. Next meeting -April 24, 2014, 6:45 - 7:45 pm. Next selections: The Postcard Killers by James Patterson and Liza Marklund. New members always welcome.
Ex Libris Book Club meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11am in the Adult Program Room. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13th. The selection is The Cat's Table by Michael Ondaatje.
Wednesday Readers Book Club meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 2pm. This month the club will be discussing Mrs. Churchill's Secretary by Susan Elia MacNeal. Next meeting -May 21st.

Meet the Author - Ron Lasko - A Tale of Two Rivers
Tuesday, April 29th at 7:00 p.m. Adult Program Room
Ron Lasko writes an intimate portrait of fly-fishing on Cape Cod's Quashnet and Mashpee Rivers, seeking the unique species of Sea Run Brook Trout that once inhabited many locations. In 50 color photos, watercolor illustrations, and engaging text, presented here is a wonderful blend of the author's personal experience and the romance of fly-fishing with practical how-to instruction, historical, environmental, and ecological issues.
Light refreshments will be served. Copies of the book will be available for sale. No registration required.

Our exhibit includes wedding gowns and accessories from the Victorian, Edwardian and 1920's eras.
This is a romantic and enchanting tour of wedding traditions from early mankind to today and explains the rituals from courtship to engagement through ceremony and honeymoon.

Announcing the Libraries for Job Seekers Grant
Programs and Resources for Job Hunters
The Library has been awarded a grant to:
• Develop a web page geared for job
and career seekers
• Add books and videos to the library's collection
• Provide workshops on basic computer use, resume preparation, interviewing and networking skill development

Jonathan Bourne Library 2014 Peep Diorama contest
Entries must be received by Friday, April 4th
Each diorama must be based on a book or literary theme.
All characters must be portrayed by Peeps.
Make the diorama using a box the size of a standard shoebox - no larger than 10"X12".
Contest open to all ages - one entry per person.
All entries must be submitted with an entry form
All entries must be in good taste.
Entries must be received by Friday, April 4th and judging will take place the week of April 15th by a panel of library staff members.
There will be several categories of winners ( family, teen, child, adult).
Winners will be announced on Friday, April 18th and remain on display at the library til April 25th and must be picked up by Saturday, April 25th.
